Gene W. Doeling Jr.

Gene Doeling is a partner of Kaler Doeling, PLLP and is licensed in North Dakota and Minnesota.  He is also licensed in the federal courts in both North Dakota and Minnesota.  His practice focuses in the areas of bankruptcy, creditor collections, guardianships, conservatorships, juvenile law, and criminal law.  He has been a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee for the District of Minnesota since 2006, and chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee for the District of North Dakota since 2010.    He is a member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.    He is a contributor to the 2022 publication Strategic Alternatives For And Against Distressed Businesses.

Gene graduated from North Dakota State University, Fargo ND with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics in 1990 and earned his law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1993  

Gene lives in West Fargo with his wife and has two children in college.  In his free time he enjoys fishing, motorcycling, hiking, and skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.  

Gene has been the attorney on several reported decisions originating out of both the North Dakota and Minnesota bankruptcy courts.
